Eurostar announce new direct service between London & Amsterdam

Flightline Travel rail news EurostarEurostar the european high-speed railway service provider has partnered with Dutch Railways and now signed an agreement to offer direct services between London and Amsterdam starting December 2016.

The Eurostar service will feature the train operator’s new e320 trains, which are compatible and interoperable with the Dutch Railways high-speed systems. The train operator plans to provide 2 services per day between the two cities with journey times of 4 hours.  These Eurostar services will run via Brussels and stop at Antwerp, Rotterdam, Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Central station.

The London-Amsterdam route is one of the largest and most popular air travel routes in Europe attracting over 3 million leisure and business travellers.  The service compliments other services to the Swiss Alps and Provence in South France, which were already launched last year.

This announcement represents a significant step in Eurostar’s expansion plan and will transform travel between both business hubs. The high-speed train service between the UK and the Netherlands, will offer travellers an attractive, convenient and sustainable way for corporate travel between the two capitals.
