Hotels & Accommodations: First Starwood St Regis hotel opens in India
8th July 2015
The St Regis Mumbai will occupy the building currently accommodating the Palladium Hotel located in the city’s Lower Parel surroundings. Following an “extensive” rebranding, the 38-storey St Regis hotel will feature 38 guestrooms, of which 60 rooms will be made of suites. The hotel, owned by Pallazzio Hotels & Leisure, is expected to open in the third quarter of 2015.
Leisure and business travellers will benefit from a wide range of facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, four specialty restaurants, a club lounge and three bars. The new St Regis hotel will also offer a swimming pool and a fitness centre ideal for business travellers to relax, for example, after a long day of back-to-back meetings or business events.
The St Regis hotel in Mumbai will offer corporate meetings and events planners 5,200 sqm of a modern meetings, conference and events space including a 4,200 sqm ballroom. The arrival of St Regis in Mumbai reinforces Starwood Hotel’s commitment to growing the company’s luxury portfolio in this growth market.
Currently, the Starwood operates 43 hotels in India, with an additional 37 hotels planned. Beginning this year, the Starwood group announced plans to launch over 40 new hotels in Europe within the upcoming five years.
