IHG announced to open Intercontinental hotel in Lyon

The Intercontinental Lyon Hôtel Dieu will be converted from one of the oldest hospital buildings in France, which has been closed down since 2010.
Located on the bank of the River Rhône, the Intercontinental Lyon Hôtel Dieu will be next to a 2,500 sqm conference centre. The new IHG hotel will be part of the multi-purpose development project ‘Grand Hôtel Dieu’ which will offer shops, restaurants and apartments.
The hotel will feature:
- 143 rooms including one presidential suite, 24 junior suites, and 118 deluxe and superior rooms.
- A Club Intercontinental lounge
- Multiple” restaurants, a lounge bar,
- Two meeting rooms and a 100 sqm fitness centre
The adjoint conference centre will provide meetings and events planners nine meeting rooms, a lounge as well as a 500 sqm ballroom.
Intercontinental Lyon Hôtel Dieu will be the fifth Intercontinental hotel in France, alongside the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes, Intercontinental Paris – Avenue Marceau, Intercontinental Marseille Hôtel Dieu and the Intercontinental Paris – Le Grand. IHG currently operates 55 hotels in France.
