Cathay Pacific – The Pier Premium Lounge re-opens for first and business class travellers at Hong Kong Airport
23rd June 2015
Airport Lounge services and features
The 2,061 sqm premium lounge for first and business class travellers offers a seating for up to 231 guests and is Cathay Pacific’s largest dedicated first class lounge. Located at Gate 63 in the North West concourse of the Hong Kong airport, The Pier has been designed by London-based design agency to express warmth, simplicity and contemporary Asian values.
The core focus of The Pier First Class Lounge is traveller well-being. The renovated airport first class lounge is separated into individual sections — the library, a bureau featuring six iMac workstations, a 100-seater dining room with a three-course á la carte service. A pantry for “grab and go” light bites is also available for travellers who are short on time. The newly re-opened airport lounge also features a horseshoe-shaped bar and a retreat area with 14 showers, eight day suites and three foot-massage booths to cater the physical needs and reduce stress during travel. In addition the retreat area consists of eight suites which are available to travellers on a first-come, first-served basis. The Pier First Class Lounge offers also “quiet zones” for those seeking privacy.
Built-in power stations for business travellers
Especially business travellers will appreciate the power ports and USB sockets, which are built into drawers positioned next to seats. Travellers have also access to a bespoke mobile device featuring an app to inform travellers flying with Cathay Pacific about flight details, including notifications about boarding time and gate changes.
Cathay Pier First Class Lounge Access
The airport lounge is open from 0530 to the last departure for traveller flying in first class with Cathay Pacific, as well as those having a Marco Polo Club Diamond or Oneworld Emerald status on any flight operated by Oneworld alliance member airlines.
The airline advised it plans to roll out the new lounge design concept to Cathay Pacific’s other airport lounges and spaces including boarding areas.
