Business Travel Alert: Finnish Aviation Union’s strike threat is likely to impact on Finnair Flights
12th May 2015
The Finnish Aviation Union (FAU) has issued a strike warning for May 19 and 20, 2015, due to a dispute between unions. However, if carried out the FAU strike is expected to affect Finnair flight operations with possible flight cancellations. Currently, there is very limited information available and therefore we are unfortunately unable to provide an estimate what the impacts might be.
Business Travel Advice:
Plan extra time for your journey, and prepare for possible delays and cancellations
Check your flight status and media sources before you travel
To minimise the inconvenience to Finnair customers, the airline offers travellers to change their flights once free of charge under the following conditions:
- Original travel dates are May 19 or 20
- New travel dates are between May 15 and June 16 (excluding May 19 and 20)
- Travellers can change their ticket to another Finnair operated destination, however in such cases the higher fare difference may be charged and lower fare difference may not be refunded.
According to the airline, no flights have been cancelled in relation to the strike threat yet.
