Airline Loyalty Schemes: Emirates Skywards enters into partnership with Heathrow Rewards
19th May 2015
Flightline business travel agents are pleased to inform you Emirates Skywards frequent flyer programme has joined the Heathrow Rewards loyalty programme as a transfer partner. With this step, Emirates follows other airlines such as British Airways, Etihad, Lufthansa and Virgin Atlantic, which are already Heathrow Rewards transfer partners. The new partnership allows members of the two loyalty programmes to collectively earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and loyalty points.
How does the transfer of Emirates Skywards frequent flyer miles into Heathrow Rewards work?
The newly formed partnership enables Emirates Skywards members to convert Skywards Miles into Heathrow Rewards while allowing for Heathrow Rewards members to do the reverse. This means travellers can put their Skywards Miles towards Emirates flights, upgrades and other rewards with Emirates Airline’s partners. In reverse Travellers with a Heathrow Rewards account are able to spend their points at hundreds of shops at Heathrow Airport, redeem their points for airport shopping vouchers or use them for discounts on pre-booked parking services as well as Heathrow Express train tickets. Leisure and business travellers with a membership account can earn 1 Heathrow Rewards point for every £1 spent in the shops at Heathrow, in the official car parks or on the Heathrow Express website, and 1 loyalty point for every £10 of currency they exchange in the airport, where each conversion is instant both ways applied in real-time. As an example, travellers can transfer a minimum of 6,000 Emirates Skywards miles into Heathrow Rewards points based on a conversion rate of 3:1. However, you are limited to a maximum 54,000 Emirates Skywards miles that can be converted into Heathrow Rewards. You can find more detailed information on the Heathrow Rewards Website.
The new partnership with Heathrow Rewards complements the airline’s already extensive product offering. With Heathrow being the UK’s hub airport, where Emirates operate five daily A380 flights, this partnership brings many benefits for the airline and its Emirates Skywards members.
