Today, nearly every airline offers a corporate loyalty scheme or is part of a worldwide alliance. By joining airline loyalty programs companies can earn corporate travel points on the miles travelled by their frequent business travellers. Individual employees can redeem travel awards such as free flights, upgrades and many other free treats. The higher a companies’ membership level the greater are the benefits the company and its business travellers obtain. The benefits that come with airline loyalty programs typically include, alongside other bargains, greater access to tickets, seats, and free access to airport lounge and priority customer service.

Which airline loyalty programs are right for my business?

Nowadays, the choice of corporate loyalty schemes is vast. The benefits of airline loyalty programs vary widely and each programme is structured in its unique way. Therefore we’ve compiled a list of the most well-known corporate airline loyalty programs and their benefits:

The corporate benefits scheme ‘Corporate Plus’ is based on Lufthansa’s Miles & More frequent flyer programme. Later in 2014, the scheme will be run as a Lufthansa programme which integrates star alliance products.
List of airline loyalty programs list - BritishAirways-BA-on-Business-Flightline TravelBA ON BUSINESS from British Airways: The airline loyalty programme is free to join for companies with a minimum of two business travellers. Within the first 12 months companies can earn triple on business points on the first six first six flights or eligible flights from partner airlines. Travel points are awarded depending on annual business travel spend on air tickets.  At the same time BA’s frequent flyer programme ‘Executive Club’ enables travelling employees to accumulate loyalty points towards their tier status every time they travel on an eligible British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia flight or on a selected flight with an oneworld alliance partner.
Emirates-business-rewards airline loyalty programs list from Flightline TravelEmirates Business Rewards: The business travel rewards programme is tailored to the needs of small-medium-sized enterprises with up to 80 travelling employees. Companies can get business rewards miles while travellers can earn SkyMiles for every flight, on the condition that travellers are members of the Skywards frequent flyer programme. SkyMiles are calculated based on route, fare, class and tier level. Employees can earn personal Skywards Miles, which can be redeemed for flight tickets on Emirates, partner airlines, upgrades, hotels and other items.
Etihad-business-connect airline loyalty programs - List from Flightline TravelEtihad Business Connect: The airline loyalty scheme is aimed at companies that do not already have a corporate arrangement in place. SMEs with a minimum of 2 and 50 business travellers are entitled to join the airline loyalty programme. Travellers can earn ‘Guest Miles’ on every Etihad flight and on any of their airlines, hotels and retail chain partners. Provided your corporate account is connected to the individual employees’ Etihad Guest account, both, the traveller and company will be credited with the appropriate miles. With Etihad’s mobile app ‘Pointpay’, members have now the option to directly redeem cash rewards for the miles earned.
Quatar-QBiz airline loyalty programs list from Flightline Travel MngtQatar Airways QBiz: Aimed at small and medium – sized businesses (SMEs), ‘QBiz’ allows companies to earn ‘Qmiles’ that can be used to redeem awards on Qatar Airways flights and various upgrades. Employees with a personal ‘Privilege Club’ account can accumulate ‘Qmiles’ for their private use. Since the airline’s recently joined the ‘oneworld’ alliance, the programme is linked to airline loyalty programs from other ‘oneworld’ members. Your companies travel points and those of your business travellers are valid throughout the airline’s network.

Below are the two most well-known SkyTeam schemes for UK based companies.
BlueBiz corporate airline loyalty programs - A list by Flightline Travel ManagementBlueBiz is the corporate benefits programme from the airlines Air France Airlines, Alitalia, Delta Air Lines and KLM. Business travellers can earn blue credits for their company for business travel within Europe. Credits are accrued per flight and fare (i.e. booking class) basis. Employees who are member of the frequent flyer programmes Flying Blue, SkyMiles or MilleMiglia can earn miles at the same time, too.
DeltaSkybonus_airline loyalty schemes list from Flightline Travel ManagementDelta SkyBonus is Delta Airline´s global travel rewards programme designed for frequent business travellers. The scheme allows companies to earn points for qualified Delta and Delta Connection® flights. Individual employees can then redeem credits for travel rewards. However, employees have to be members of Delta’s frequent flyer programme ‘SkyMiles’ in order to accrue miles and earn SkyBonus points for the company at the same time.
VirginAtlantic_flying-co corporate airline loyalty programs list by Flightline Travel MngtVirgin Atlantic – Flying Co.: The airline loyalty program ‘Flying Co’ is available in the UK, US, South Africa and the Caribbean. Companies with at least two employees travelling on business can join the loyalty scheme. In order to accrue miles for your corporate account travellers need to be members of Virgin’s Flying Club. By linking both accounts companies can obtain up to 40% of the miles credited to club members and 10% of credits earned through selected hotel and car rentals. At the same time, employees can redeem miles against eligible flights, upgrades, Heathrow lounge passes, chauffeured services or Eurostar travel.
