Travel Alert - Advanced Passenger Information Advanced Passenger Information (APIS) Requirements for UK 2009 From 2009, the UK Government will require Advanced Passenger Information for all passengers travelling internationally into and out of the UK. This is being rolled out over the coming year. Advance Passenger Information means providing certain information to the authorities before passengers travel, such as passport details and, where necessary, contact information. This can be completed through 'Manage My Booking' when travellers check in online at ba.com or via your travel management company. Currently Advance Passenger Information is required for travel to and from Canada, China, India, Japan, Malta, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Thailand, UAE & USA. Staff at check-in desks will be able to collect API data but passengers are strongly advised to supply the information prior to arrival at the airport or at a check-in kiosk where available, providing they hold a machine readable passport. Information required: Full given names, Surname, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Passport number, Expiry date, Country of issue.
