Rail Fare Structure Over the past two years, ATOC and all train companies have been working together to develop a simplified fares structure for rail travel throughout Great Britain. This year, changes are being made to fare names and terms and conditions to simplify the range of tickets available and make these easier for passengers to understand. Changes will affect advance tickets from 18th May 2008 and walk-up tickets from 7th September 2008. The new structure will be: Advance**: Buy in advance offer excellent value, the earlier you book the lower the fare.
Simply mix and match single tickets for a return journey. Off & Super Off Peak: Buy anytime and travel off peak periods Anytime: Buy anytime, travel anytime ** Available to purchase from 24 April 2008. The National Rail website will be updated shortly to include a broader explanation of the new fare structure and its benefits. Download more information
